Beetle
I have to say Beetle is rather weird sometimes, perhaps this comes from being born on Halloween. Anyway, shes a bit bigger and a bit heavier than Slug, although this doesn't seem to bother the pedigree one even when she squashes him. Ninety percent of the time she looks like a Staffordshire Bull Terrier but occasionally she looks suspisciously like a Labby. We are still really getting to know her and shes taken awhile to settle in properly but shes a real lady. She doesn't like to get up before midday and will not move from the bed for love nor money or even cheese!
Shes quite vocal which I don't mind because at least people realise we have dogs now, the only problem is that whenever a doorbell goes on the telly she runs to the front door and barks at it. I reckon she does this on purpose as I know damned well that she actually watches tv and when we get up to double check she runs back in the living room and curls up in the chair you've just vacated......
Our home is about the third shes been in now so I have to assume thats why she took so long to settle in properly. The
information we have from the re-homing centre is that she was beaten and had her leg broken in her first home and was given to the staffy re-homing centre when her second set of owners had a baby, so I suppose its not really that surprising she took time to settle.
The poor girl has an over bite on her bottom jaw, which makes her look rather like Muttley on the odd occasion! As an eight year old Staffy, she is just a nasty as Slug and can be found snoring viciously at the ceiling, barking at menacing looking rope toys and pretending that shes starving hungry every minute of the day!
She loves to play and has a really mischievious side but I do wish she wouldn't keep moving my shoes all round the house.........!
